About Us

We are a lifestyle boutique and mother-daughters business, filled with "all things beautiful for Woman & Home". We're located near the harbor in charming Port Washington, NY, on the North Shore of Long Island, and have been in business for 30+ years.

The name "Painting with Flowers" is from owner Gayle's original calling as a garden designer, who "painted" landscapes with flowers. Over the years, that business evolved into the boutique we are today, and she's been joined by both daughters.

Ali is in the shop most days running things, while Tara does the social media from afar. All three love finding the special merchandise we are known for: an eclectic mix of home accessories, unique jewelry and women's clothing, artisan soaps and candles, bath & body luxuries, fine bedding, sweet baby gifts, and more. Everything is carefully curated - what we would want in our own homes, to bring a touch of soul, comfort, and happiness.

We invite you to come and visit us! Browse our shop, and have lunch at one of our great local cafes (or get it to-go, and enjoy while watching the sailboats down by the water). Port Washington's lower Main Street is like a vacation getaway, close to home!
